The Fearless Birthing viewpoint
Reproductive trauma is not a failure to cope.
It's what happens when the body stores what was too much to process at the time. Whether it was a birth that went wrong, a pregnancy that ended too soon, a procedure that felt violating, or a loss that was minimised by everyone around you — the wound is real.
And it doesn't heal by being ignored, pushed through, or “gotten over.” It heals when it's met with gentleness. When it's named. When the nervous system finally gets the signal that it's safe to let go.
Types of reproductive trauma
- Birth wound — trauma from the birth experience itself
- Pregnancy loss & miscarriage
- Abortion — regardless of the circumstances
- Medical trauma — invasive procedures, loss of autonomy
- Secondary trauma — from witnessing someone else's experience
Whatever you've been through, you are not broken. The wound doesn't go away by itself — but it can be cleared.
